The client wanted a fully functional private lettings portal, which would allow people to join and add properties to be advertised on the site. Needless to say we met all their requirements:

- Passwords are triple encrypted before passing into database
- Once account has been verified by email link the user can add properties
- Properties are emailed to the site admin, with a link in the email to view the property and approve it
- Members have an admin panel where they can delete and edit their properties, and change their password
- Properties are displayed on SEO friendly pages, including a javascript image slideshow, which degrades gracefully for those without JS
- Search and Advanced Search Functionality
- All set up ready for a method of charging to be set up down the line, currently it is free to add properties

The core requirement here was the client's desire to have full control over the content; they wanted to be able to easily add and remove pages and control their own image gallery(s). This was because the previous developers had not given any control, over adding email accounts or anything.
Rather than write a custom content management system, Wordpress' easy to use interface was perfect for this task. I had a PSD designed as usual, and then incorporated the Wordpress CMS into the custom design, and set it to use a static homepage. I then installed a plugin, which allows for the easy creation of galleries on the site's gallery page. The client is very happy to have control over the site.
